I'm pursuing a career as a screenwriter in Los Angeles and currently I am working as the showrunner's assistant for Star Trek Discovery on Paramount+.
When you think about your time at PiM/MSSPA, what is the one thing that sticks out?
The tight knit friendships and bonding during all the plays and musicals. I found my people at MSSPA and those are still some of my closest friendships to this day.
What was one thing you feel MSSPA/PIM prepared you for?
Being a good collaborator, learning to work together whether creatively or academically (and usually both at the same time!) Being a good team player in professional environments.
What is something that you were surprised to discover MSSPA/PiM prepared you for?
Being more assertive and confident (as a performer and as an individual)! MSSPA/PiM really taught me to trust myself more and listen to my instincts/intuition. When I have to think on my feet in my work now or creatively problem solve, this skill has been one of the things I'm most thankful for. I owe a lot of that to my time at MSSPA/PiM!
Are you doing what you thought you would be doing?
I am doing way more than I thought I would be doing! I still have a long way to go in my career as a screenwriter, but I feel really proud to say that I think I'm further along down that path than I thought I would be at this point. I also guess I wasn't always sure I'd end up being a screenwriter (I'd had my eye on both acting and teaching at certain points), but now that I'm here it feels like this is always where I was meant to be.
