Word of the Day
Today is the last day of the school week. Classes end at 12 Noon so we can have conferences this afternoon and later this evening. Tomorrow there is No School – it is a Teacher Inservice Day. Classes resume on Monday.
Virtual Financial Aid Meeting Tonight!
Tonight at 6:30 the Assistant Financial Aid Director from St. Thomas will be providing information and answering questions from the college perspective about the financial aid process. This is a valuable opportunity for families to get current information and ask an expert in the field any questions. A link will be available today. Questions? Ask Klein or Soskin!
Scholastic Writing Competition
Hey writers! The deadline to submit work to the scholastic writing competition is one week from today, Thursday, December 12th. Get those stories and scripts and poems edited and submitted this weekend. Come see Omernik if you have any questions.
Pride in December
In recognition of Pride Month, typically celebrated in June, the Diversity and Inclusion club is celebrating half birthday style with a few: “I think the best thing for you to do is just live your life. Live a life that’s worth living, one where you do what you want to do, pursue your passions. That way, if you meet someone, they’ll be joining a life that’s already really good.” Dan Savage, writer, journalist, and founder of the “It Gets Better” campaign. If you would like to learn more about Dan and others, stop by room 124 and scan the QR code or read the posters.
Winter Art Market!
5 days remain to sign up for the winter art market! We want your vintage finds! Are you an amateur thrifter? Do you have an eye for secret steals? Why not create a curated vendor booth and try your hand at sustainable vintage resale! The market 3:30-6:30 on Thursday December 19th right before the Fashion show and during the Portrait Show opening. It’s a great place to shop and sell for the holidays. The cost of a vendor table is $10 and the link to sign up is in your Advisory Google classroom.
Student Council @ the Art Market
PiM student council will be doing a book drive at the winter art market for our school library (or, legally speaking, communal bookshelf!) If you have extra books lying around, now would be the perfect time to get rid of them! Every person who donates a book gets a custom student-made pin. We will also be doing a bake sale where all proceeds will go to future student council endeavors, so make sure to stop by!
Random Recognition
Random recognition celebrates the achievements and community efforts of you and your peers. Today we recognize ninth grade musical theater major, Sarah Ungar. Sarah is a great leader in Vox choir – often having their music and voice part mastered and memorized very quickly and singing out to lead their peers. They are kind and a wonderful addition to the PiM community. Thank you for all you do Sarah!
