Highlighting Black Excellence
Sheryl Lee Ralph is a talented actress, singer, and activist known for her contributions to both stage and screen. Ralph gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Deena Jones in the original Broadway production of “Dreamgirls,” earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Outside of her acting career, Ralph is a vocal advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. Ralph co-founded the Diva Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and providing support to those affected by the disease. Her multifaceted career and activism continue to inspire audiences around the world.
Vocal Jazz Performance
Need a flex to attend? Like music? Like JAZZ? The flex period on Thursday, February 22nd will feature a collegiate vocal jazz ensemble performance from Iowa’s Southwest Community College School of Music Vocations. Sign up for Mrs. McKnight’s flex and come to the instrumental room to experience some great jazz music! See you there!
Classroom Chromebooks
Students who use Chromebooks. If you use a Chromebook from a classroom, make sure the Chromebook remains in the classroom when class is over. There are several Chromebooks – which have a designated classroom they live in – that have gone missing. If you have one of these Chromebooks, please return it to its designated classroom. – Thank you!
