Random Recognition
February Random Recognition celebrates the achievements and community efforts of notable local, national, and international Black artists. Today we recognize Kayla Mahaffey, a Black visual artist from the Southside of Chicago. Focused on painting, her work utilizes whimsy and realism to tell a story of inner thoughts and personal issues that sometimes go unheard. Kayla continues to further her painting techniques and creativity in order to paint a beautiful picture of a new world for those around her. See some of Kayla’s work at kaylamay.art.
