Heard of the Fidget Spinner?
After attending PiM, Sam Kenknight was accepted to the Engineering program at Purdue University and is now working as a freelance automation programmer and artist around Chicago. Not to mention perhaps one of the most incredible pieces of alumni legacy… KenKnight began 3D printing toys in his college apartment. Coining the term “fidget spinner”, he began offering them to friends on campus and online before they exploded into the once fad toy we know today. PiM theatre educator Rob Thompson shared, “During his time at PiM, Sam found a way to merge his passions for science and the arts, allowing him to be one of the more creative students in our classes. It was remarkable to see him apply his passion for engineering to building a blood transfusion machine prop for our production of Dracula.”
