Being Himself
“After PiM, I went to St. Olaf College and graduated in 2013 with a degree in nursing. I then worked in the neonatal intensive care unit for three years at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in Minneapolis and in the pediatric intensive care unit for one year at Gillette Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul. I’ve since finished graduate school for nurse anesthesia and have begun my career at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital!
The best thing that I took away from PiM that still impacts my life today would be my best friend Melissa Peterson. I’d also have to say that PiM really set the foundation for my personality; I was free to be me there – an obnoxious, loud, attention craving teenager – and because of that, I know that where ever life takes me, I have to be in an environment where I can feel the way I felt at PiM – cared for and accepted.”
