Arts in Action
“After graduating from PiM, I continued my studies for a BA in Interdisciplinary Arts at Columbia College Chicago, graduating in the spring of 2018. I have been fortunate enough to receive the Albert P. Weisman Award the past two years and present my work at EXPO Chicago in 2017. I have also interned at Andrew Rafacz Gallery in Chicago and studio assisted artist Joan Giroux.
There are so many incredible things I took away from PiM with the most prevalent being the importance of collaboration and valuing other artist’s point of view. This ability to connect, share, and exchange your work is so vital in progressing not only as an artist, but as a person. I also will never forget the words Rob Thompson spoke at my graduation in 2014, ‘Be careful what you wish for because you might just get everything you ever wanted.’ Now maybe I didn’t receive this in the way he intended, but that phrase continues to remind me that achieving your dreams is completely possible with hard work and passion.”
