Parent Guardian Guide to Statewide Testing and Refusal to Test Form
Fall Testing
ALL Freshmen and Sophomores take the NWEA in Reading and Math to satisfy our authorizer, University of St.
Thomas. Data will be stored and kept by Director of Teaching and Learning. The tests are untimed and take
approximately an hour each.
NWEA Testing Session runs September 11 – October 6
Juniors have the PSAT – $15 dollar fee. Recommended. Registration deadline is Friday, October 6th. Score reports will
be shared with students and parents in January.
PSAT is Wednesday, October 11, 2017
Test time: 2 hours 45 minutes
Winter Testing
Students in 9th and 10th in math classes will take their “spring” subject test in class at end of semester
NWEA Winter Testing (Math) runs January 8-12.
Spring Testing
MCA Tests – Information can be found about MCAs on the MDE website. Results released in July and can be
found on the MDE website. Results will be mailed home to families prior to first conferences the following
school year.
-Sophomores do Reading
-Juniors do Math
-All Biology students do Science
MCA Testing Window is March 6 – May 5
Grade 10, Reading, April 10, 13, 14, and 17
Biology Students grades 10-12, Science, April 20, May 3 and May 4
Grade 11, Math, April 24, 25, 26 and May 1
Test is untimed and will be in the Mac Lab.
ACT+Writing – Juniors (PiM Arts High School will require this, paid for by Pearson and State, meets graduation
requirement) Scores will be mailed directly home 3-8 after testing and data kept in Infinite Campus
-Test is April 3, 2017
-students with accommodations may test between April 3 and Test Make-Up day April 24
Test length: 3 hours 35 minutes
NWEA Spring
Students in 9th and 10th in language arts and math classes will take their spring subject test in class at end of semester
NWEA Spring Testing runs May 8 – May 26 in computer lab
AP Exams for students enrolled in AP courses, taken at the Pavilion- scores released to AP Coordinator and to students
and parents in July.
-AP Lit & Comp May 9 – 8 AM, 3 hours 15 minutes
-AP Biology May 14 -8 AM, 3 hours
-AP Music Theory May 14- 8AM 3 hours
-AP Calculus AB May 15 – 8AM 3 hours
-AP Lang & Comp May 16 -8 AM, 3 hours
-AP European History May 18th- 12PM, 3 hours
