Performing arts high school to have new digs, new name in Eden Prairie

An arts-focused high school moving from Hopkins to Eden Prairie for the 2017-18 school year will not only have new digs, but a new name.
The Main Street School of Performing Arts closed on the $6 million purchase of the former Eagle Ridge Academy site at 7255 Flying Cloud Drive last year. The school has since been renovating the 77,500-square-foot building to include an arena theater, practice rooms for vocal and instrumental music and classrooms. The school is presently housed in an old Catholic school building at 1320 Mainstreet in Hopkins and will fully occupy the Eden Prairie site by fall 2017.
