McNally Smith Comes to Lunch Tuesday
All students interested in learning about McNally Smith should meet with Madison Forrester during their lunch period. She’ll be in the cafeteria to talk about her school.
Picture Retakes
If you had your picture taken in August on schedule pick-up day and don’t like your picture, be sure to bring back your picture packet on Monday for a picture retake. All students who didn’t get your picture taken in August, come ready to get your picture taken on Mon., Sept. 19. Even if you don’t want to order pictures, we want you to get your picture taken for a student ID.
Homecoming Dance
It’s coming up soon! On October 1st, Popp on over to the Cafeteria at Eisenhower Community Center and dance the night away! The dance will start at 7 pm and end at 10 pm. Tickets are ten dollars in advance and at the door.
National Honor Society
Hey, Juniors and Seniors interested in joining NHS! Have you gotten an application yet? No? Why not? See Ms. Schauwitzer in the main office or talk to Cheron Whittley, Jonah Redding or Kaya Davis. Remember, you need to have 20 hours of community service completed, a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and two teacher recommendations. Applications are due October 7th.
Steel Drum Ensemble Sign-ups
Hey you! We are getting the band back together. Steel drum is reforming Block 5 on Thursdays, starting on September 29. No experience necessary- just the ability to read music and to have fun. Instruments needed include Pan Players, Drums, Guitars, Basses, and Piano. This group will perform throughout the year with summer performances possible based on group availability. You don’t need to be an instrumental major! Come and be a part of something great! Sign up outside the instrumental music room, Room 229.
Chamber Orchestra Sign-up
Do you play a string, woodwind, or brass instrument? If so, Monday afternoons Block 5 is made for you! Any student with experience on one of these instruments is invited, ney, required to participate. This group will perform in the December music concert and beyond! Come and be a part of this weekly celebration of quality music making, and find a community of great people to have fun with! Sign up outside the instrumental music room. First Rehearsal will be Monday, September 26.
Saturday Detention
Saturday detention will be held tomorrow in the cafeteria from 10:00 to 12:00 pm. Students who intend on coming must sign up with Ms. Montgomery by the end of today. Saturday detention will be canceled if there are no sign-ups.
Teen Ivey Awards
Bring everyone you know for a “formal with an edge” youth only party complete with a live DJ, a red carpet and delicious food. Then walk down the street to the State Theatre for the Ivey Awards show. Monday, September 19th, at 5:30. Buy tickets at iveyawards.com, enter code “PLAY” for $10 youth tickets, and that’s for the pre-party, the award show, and the after party. Random Recognition
Random recognition celebrates the achievements and community efforts of you and your peers. Today we recognize Aubrie Bomchill, Sarah Davis, and Olivia Frauendienst for helping Mr. Flory put his room back together. He really appreciates it.
