Students across the Theatre curriculum had the opportunity to engage with three different professional actors in the Twin Cities.
Tom Reed, professional actor and improviser, paid a visit to Mr. Leaf’s Improv class on Tuesday, December 8. He spoke frankly about his work creating content and performing with Brave New Workshop. He provided insight into all of the great things the Twin Cities Improv community has to offer.
Patrick Bailey, cast member of The Night Alive at the Jungle Theater, held a Q&A session with students from Acting I and Acting II. These students had the opportunity the previous week to see him in performance on a department field trip.
Tyler Michaels visited MSSPA’s newest arts course offering, Acting for Musical Theatre, to provide insight into the life of a full-time actor. Michaels has had starring roles with Theatre Latte Da, the Guthrie Theatre, and Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and spoke of his process and preparation for many of these parts. He also spoke of the challenges and opportunities that come with being on stage. He inspired our students to learn and teach as much as they possibly can, as the relationships and knowledge one builds opens doors to more opportunities.
