Main Street School of Performing Arts was fortunate to have Dessa as a guest artist speaking to Advanced Ensemble and Chamber Singer classes today at MSSPA. Dessa spoke about her journey as an artist and her struggles and successes as a creative performer. Speaking to upper level musicians about the creative process, she was honest, inspiring, and forthright. She also spoke of her creative and collaborative process with Doomtree, a prominent local music collective. MSSPA students engaged in a great question and answer session with Dessa, with topics ranging from dealing with stress on tour, long term collaboration, how streaming music technology influences the artist’s bottom line and the growth curve to success in the music industry.
